Programme Breakdown
Year 1: Cover Supervisor
Your journey starts with a year of hands-on classroom experience as a Cover Supervisor. In this role, you will:
- Manage classrooms during teacher absences.
- Support students’ learning by maintaining engagement and focus.
- Gain practical skills in lesson planning, preparation, and classroom management.
- Work alongside experienced teachers to develop your teaching methods.
This year will help you build confidence, understand school life, and prepare for your formal teacher training.
Year 2: PGCE Trainee Teacher
In your second year, you will transition to a trainee teacher role and undertake a fully funded PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) qualification. This involves:
- Planning and delivering your own lessons.
- Assessing students’ progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) while receiving ongoing mentorship from experienced educators.
