Science Teacher – Specialised Support School – Basingstoke

We are working in partnership with a small, dedicated school in Basingstoke that specialises in supporting students from challenging backgrounds who require additional behavioural and emotional support. This school provides a nurturing and structured environment where students can re-engage with education at their own pace.
The Role:
We are seeking a qualified Science Teacher (QTS required) who can inspire and motivate students with a creative and adaptable approach to teaching. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that help students build confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Provide tailored support to students in 1:1 and small group settings
- Adapt teaching methods to support students with behavioural and emotional needs
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and school staff to create a supportive learning environment
- Help students develop a pathway back into mainstream education or further learning opportunities
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Previous experience teaching Science at secondary level
- A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
- Experience working with students with additional needs (desirable)
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable teaching style

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
