Job description

Teacher of Mathematics - Start April 2025 (Post-Easter)

A dynamic and forward-thinking school in Southampton is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of Mathematics to join their highly effective and supportive Maths department. The successful candidate will start in April 2025 (after the Easter break) with the aim of securing a permanent position from September 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a range of mathematical concepts and topics across different key stages, ensuring a high standard of delivery.
  • Work closely with colleagues to develop and implement strategies to enhance student learning, engagement, and achievement in Maths.
  • Support the Maths faculty in the implementation of curriculum planning, assessments, and interventions.
  • Use data to monitor student progress, identify trends, and support interventions to improve student outcomes.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, where students feel motivated and supported in their learning.
  • Contribute to the continued development and growth of the department, aiming for excellence in both teaching and student achievement.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A passionate, ambitious, and dedicated teacher with a clear vision for Maths education.
  • Proven experience in teaching Mathematics at secondary level with a focus on improving student outcomes.
  • The ability to engage and inspire students in the subject, tailoring your approach to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively within a team.
  • A focus on continuous professional development and an eagerness to improve both personally and professionally.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
