Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (Dependant on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full Time

Job Overview

Are you an experienced Religious Education (RE) teacher with a passion for inspiring students and leading a department to success?

Our client is seeking a Subject Leader for Religious Education to join their school and play a pivotal role in shaping the RE curriculum. As a Subject Leader, you will have the chance to lead a dynamic team, inspire a love of learning, and contribute to the academic and personal development of students.

The Role

As the Subject Leader for Religious Education, you will:

  • Lead, manage, and develop the RE department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.

  • Provide strategic direction and vision for the RE curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, inclusive, and relevant.

  • Develop and implement schemes of work and assessment strategies that support the learning needs of all students.

  • Foster a supportive and collaborative environment where teachers are motivated to continuously improve.

  • Monitor the progress and achievement of students, setting and reviewing targets to ensure high academic standards.

  • Lead departmental meetings and ensure that best practices are shared across the team.

  • Work closely with senior leaders to ensure that RE is integrated into the broader curriculum and school ethos.

  • Support and mentor colleagues in the RE department, including providing professional development opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A qualified teacher with QTS and significant experience in teaching Religious Education.

  • A proven track record of leadership and management within a department, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

  • Deep knowledge of the Religious Education curriculum and the ability to implement innovative teaching practices.

  • A commitment to high academic standards and improving outcomes for students.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and senior leadership.

  • Passionate about fostering an inclusive and reflective approach to teaching RE.
