Sports Coach (In School Support)
Job description
Are you passionate about inspiring young children to be active and confident learners? A friendly and vibrant primary school in Bath, is looking for an enthusiastic Sports Coach to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in sports coaching who is eager to support students both in the classroom and on the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-class support to teachers, helping students with their learning and engagement across a range of subjects.
- Assist in planning and delivering PE lessons and sports activities that are fun, inclusive, and promote a healthy lifestyle.
- Lead small group activities and one-on-one support for students who need extra help.
- Organise and supervise break-time and lunchtime sports activities to encourage active play.
- Promote positive behaviour and teamwork, acting as a role model for students.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a positive and inclusive school environment.
Ideal Candidate:
- Sports Coaching Background: Experience in coaching or leading sports activities for children is highly desirable.
- Classroom Support: Comfortable supporting learning in a classroom setting and adapting to the needs of different students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Enthusiastic, patient, and committed to helping children achieve their best.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in sports coaching, youth work, or as a teaching assistant is highly desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in sports coaching or education would be an advantage.
- A passion for working with children and promoting an active, healthy lifestyle.
