Job description

A highly reputable, independent SEN secondary school located in the Towcester and Silverstone area is seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Manager to join their permanent staff from January 2025 (or sooner if available).

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a thriving educational environment focused on supporting students with special educational needs.

Salary: £24,420 - £29,190 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day management of the school site, ensuring all facilities are safe, secure, and well-maintained.
  • Conducting regular checks of the school premises, addressing any maintenance or health and safety issues.
  • Managing a small team of site staff, including cleaners and contractors, to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, carpentry, and decorating.
  • Ensuring that the school complies with all health, safety, and security regulations, including fire safety and risk assessments.
  • Liaising with external contractors for larger repairs and maintenance projects.
  • Managing site budgets and ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Supporting school events and activities by setting up rooms and equipment as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar Site Manager or Facilities Manager role, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance.
  • Practical skills in basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and general repairs.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo DBS checks).
  • Full UK driving licence is desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
