Job Advertisement: 1:1 Teaching Assistant for Year 2 Pupil with Autism (Non-Verbal)

Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual looking to make a meaningful difference in a child's life? Teaching Personnel is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with Autism who is non-verbal. This role is based in a nurturing Catholic Primary School in L4, offering the opportunity to work closely with a pupil who requires extra guidance and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored, one-to-one support for a non-verbal pupil with Autism.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to deliver a personalised learning plan.
  • Support the child’s communication, learning, and social interaction using alternative methods like visual aids and assistive technologies.
  • Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help with daily routines, transitions, and ensuring the pupil feels comfortable and confident in the classroom setting.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with Autism or other special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children with additional needs thrive.
  • A strong understanding of non-verbal communication techniques.
  • Willingness to uphold the Catholic ethos of the school.
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
