Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION: SEN Tutor

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored support and guidance to students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Develop individualised learning plans to address specific learning needs and goals
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to enhance student understanding and progress
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and SEN coordinators to ensure holistic support for students

Required Qualifications:

  • Recognised qualification in teaching or tutoring
  • Specialisation or experience in supporting students with SEN

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in tutoring or teaching students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of various learning difficulties and strategies to address them
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in SEN education
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work primarily in educational institutions or student homes
  • Potential for remote work or online tutoring

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
