SEN Teaching Assistant Vacancies

A well reputable and Ofsted-rated GOOD school in Poole are looking to employ applicants who are passionate about education and understand the value of being a supportive SEN Teaching Assistant for multiple vacancies from April 2025.
The school aims to provide a vibrant and fun experience to all their students by prioritising to support children and young people with special needs through engaging and exciting opportunities to learn.
This specialist school caters to students who have learning difficulties also known as CLDD (Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities) from Early years to Post 16 students from 8.45am to 3.30pm (35-minutes unpaid lunch break)
Role Overview
- Provide personlised support for each student depending on their learning styles and special needs.
- Prioritise children's physical, social and emotional welfare through utilising a variety of interpersonal techniques.
- Ensure students are provided with a safe environment to pursue their educational needs.
- Work alongside and support teachers to ensure inclusivity and access, keep track of progress and promote self-esteem.
- Develop a variety of methods to engage with individual students, under the direction of the teacher.
- You may be required to work closely with other professionals like speech and language therapists.
Skills and knowledge
- Due to the nature of this role, applicants must have experience supporting children/adults with special needs.
- Comfortable prioritising personal care whilst aiding our students.
- Hold a minimum of 5 GCSE.
- Able to understand and help students with various learning styles.
- Enjoy working with students.
- The ability to create the best conditions for students with additional needs.
- Flexible and open to adapting to each student’s needs.
- Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed during stressful situations and ensuring students feel supported.

- This role may require utilising personal mode of transport due to the location of the school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
