Job description

Position: SEN Support Staff
Location: Liverpool & Wirral

Position Overview:
As SEN Support Staff, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students with special educational needs. Your role will involve working closely with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment, providing individualized support, and helping students overcome barriers to their education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and other support strategies.
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure cohesive and effective student support.
  • Assist with classroom activities, including preparing materials and organizing resources.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN is preferred.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support or education (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, SEN diploma) is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to supporting the educational and personal development of students with SEN.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
