SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a primary school based in Stoke-on-Trent who are seeking a full time SEN Teaching Assistant to support with pupils who require additional support with learning and behaviour. This is a great opportunity for an individual who has experience working with SEN and is looking for a new role within education.
The role:
- Start-date: 2nd June
- Until end of academic year with opportunity for a permanent contract in September
- Great location with excellent transport links across Stoke
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with other members of staff to deliver tailored learning activities, ensuring the curriculum is accessible to all learning needs. This may involve 1-1 interventions for core subjects, designated reading time and interactive activities. You will also support individuals in mainstream lessons, ensuring the class runs smoothly and the correct behaviour support is given.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with SEN individuals in any setting is required for this role
- Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
- A genuine passion and enthusiasm for supporting young individuals with SEN
- Good knowledge of SEN and current teaching techniques
- Safeguarding training (must be done upon registering with Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
