Job description

We are currently working alongside a primary school located in Newcastle-under-Lyme who are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to start after May half-term. The school are looking for a confident individual who is passionate about the early development of young students to join their growing SEN team.

About the role:

  • Start-date: 2nd June
  • Till end of academic year, with opportunity for a permanent contract in September
  • Full-time role

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work 1:1 with SEN students ensuring they get the additional support they require. This will involve Maths and Phonics interventions as well as behaviour support during main class lessons. You will work closely with the class teacher to create and implement individualised learning plans for these students and communicate effectively to track their progress.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience within a primary school and SEN is essential for this role
  • Knowledge of current behaviour management techniques
  • Good knowledge of SEN and behaviours
  • Safeguarding training (must be done upon registering with Teaching Personnel)

To be considered for this role, applicants must have and enhanced child only DBS registered on the update service or be willing to apply for one upon registering with Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
