SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a positive impact on their education? Teaching Personnel is working with a secondary school in Stalybridge to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in January 2024.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of learning needs in a secondary school setting. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN, both inside and outside of the classroom.
- Assisting with tailored learning plans and adapting resources to meet individual needs.
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Helping students develop social and communication skills.
- Monitoring and tracking student progress, offering feedback where necessary.
- Supporting students with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities.
Key Requirements:
- Experience working with students with SEN is desirable, but not essential.
- A caring and patient approach to supporting students with additional learning needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with staff, students, and parents.
- A proactive attitude and a passion for education.
- Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to obtain one.
- Teaching Personnel will provide full support and training, helping you to further develop your skills in the SEN field.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
