Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Location: Barnsley/Sheffield/Rotherham/Doncaster/Chesterfield
Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time roles
Salary: £85-100 per day
We are currently working on behalf of Specialist schools in Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, and Chesterfield who are looking for passionate SEN Teaching Assistants!
The schools support pupils with additional needs – Including those with Autism, Social, emotional, mental health needs, and Medical requirements. The school offers personalised learning opportunities in order to support students in both an academic, social, and emotional capacity.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Small Group mentoring: As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to work with pupils 1-2-1 and in small groups.
- Feedback: Work alongside colleagues and parents/carers to provide feedback on progress and development.
- Create engaging activities: that are in alignment with the interests of each child.
- De-escalate challenging behaviour: using holistic techniques and implementing unique learning plans for students.
Minimum requirements:
- Experience in a school or care setting is preferred but certainly not required.
- Knowledge of how to support those with SEN, Mental Health Difficulties and Medical requirements.
- It is desirable that you have completed at least one of the following CPD. Qualifications, though it is not essential: Moving & Handling, Team Teach.
Important Information:
- This is a full-time role (Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 3:30) however those available on a part-time basis are encouraged to apply, as there are plenty of day to day and part time oppurtunities
- Pay is dependent on experience but will be between £85 – £105 per day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
