Job description

We are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant!

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? We are seeking a strong SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and make a real difference in the lives of students with additional needs.

About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who have a range of learning, behavioral, and physical needs. You will provide tailored support, helping students to engage with the curriculum, develop key skills, and build confidence in their learning journey. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring every child feels valued, included, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.

  • Support students with a range of needs, including learning difficulties, social and emotional challenges, and physical disabilities.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging students to actively participate in classroom activities.

  • Help manage and support positive behavior strategies, ensuring students feel safe and supported.

  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and other professionals as necessary.

  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and parents to ensure the best possible support for each student.

About You:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is essential.

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with children.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Confidence in managing challenging behavior and adapting support strategies to meet individual needs.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent) are desirable.

  • A passion for making a positive impact in the lives of children with additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
