SEN Teaching Assistant for Year 10 Support Class

We are urgently seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support in our Year 10 class for students with additional needs. This class consists of 6 pupils who are used to working with two dedicated teaching assistants. Due to an earlier-than-expected maternity leave and unforeseen cover issues, we need a passionate and skilled individual to step in and join our team.

Key Details:

  • Location: Year 10 Support Class.
  • Students: 6 pupils with varying needs, including ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD, and MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties).
  • Team: You will be working alongside another experienced teaching assistant to provide consistent support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the daily learning and social development of pupils with ASD, ADHD, and MLD.
  • Provide tailored support to meet each pupil's individual learning and behavioral needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement lesson plans and strategies that support positive outcomes for all students.
  • Foster a safe, encouraging, and structured learning environment.
  • Help manage classroom behaviors and implement strategies to improve focus and engagement.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Prior experience working with pupils with ASD, ADHD, and MLD is essential.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Able to work collaboratively with other teaching assistants and staff to create a nurturing learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
