SEN Teaching Assistants
Teaching Personnel are recruiting for casual teaching assistants for a mixed primary and secondary SEN school based in Darwen. The school, caters for young people who need extra support in their learning and development due to their additional needs. The schools may cater for children with autism, mild learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, attention deficit disorder, oppositional defiance disorder or social, emotional, mental health difficulties.
Working as a member of support staff in a specialist provision requires you to be adaptable, reliable, resilient and have knowledge and understanding of how to provide high quality care following care plans.
Key Duties:
- Providing academic support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
- Quickly build positive relationships with students.
- Support pupils with engagement and encourage pupils to be involved.
- Support the general class teacher.
- Participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities.
- Provide meaningful feedback on pupil attainment and profress.
- Promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural and physical development through the curriculum.
Key Information:
- Flexible, part-time and full-time positions available.
- No specific qualifications necessary.
- Care/support/health background is desirable.
- Options for temp to perm available.
- PAYE Contract.
- £12.90+ per hour depending on additional duties and experience.
- Start date ASAP.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
