SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel has been approached by a specialist provision in Wimborne which caters for pupils aged 6-19 with complex social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, specialising in Autism. Many pupils who attend this school have not had a previously good experience at school and have been persistently absent from education. As a result, the pupils have large gaps in their learning and have low confidence levels in their academic ability.
.As a 1:1 Autism Support you will be responsible for:
- Supporting students with ASC, altering your approach accordingly.
- Liaise with TA’s and parents to maximise student achievements.
- Encourage pupils to engage with their education through a positive approach.
- Build positive relationships with pupils.
- Praise good behaviour.
- Deal with potentially difficult situations.
You must have previous experience working with children with ASC and must be comfortable when facing challenging behaviour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
