Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our client at a secondary school in Manchester starting in November 2024. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the classroom setting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people by helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them understand lesson content and complete assignments.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation from all students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, including special education coordinators and external professionals, to develop effective strategies for supporting students.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive social interactions among students.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to SEN support.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar role, particularly with SEN students, is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
