School Youth Worker

Role Overview:
Teaching Personnel are seeking a passionate and dedicated School Youth Worker to join one of our client secondary schools in South Manchester. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the emotional and social development of the students. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create a safe and nurturing environment where students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
- Develop and implement programs aimed at promoting positive behaviour and mental well-being.
- Facilitate group activities that encourage teamwork, communication skills, and personal development.
- Act as a liaison between students, parents, and school staff to ensure effective communication regarding student needs.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
- Organise workshops on topics such as resilience, conflict resolution, and peer relationships.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and interventions.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in youth work, social work, psychology or education (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Youth Work).
- Experience working with young people in an educational or community setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
