SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Macclesfield. In this role, you will support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a one-to-one or small group basis, ensuring they receive the tailored support they need to thrive academically and socially. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with children and making a real difference in their educational journey.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing one-to-one or small group support to children with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, or learning disabilities.
• Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering individualised education plans (IEPs) for pupils.
• Helping students with personal care, where required, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and supported throughout the school day.
• Promoting positive behaviour and assisting with emotional support as needed.
• Observing and monitoring student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
• Supporting students in developing social skills and building independence.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A genuine passion for working with children, particularly those with SEN.
• Experience in an educational setting, particularly with children with special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to work well with children who may face additional challenges.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
• A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving.

This full-time role offers a competitive daily rate of £85-£100, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, caring, and committed to supporting the educational development of primary school pupils with SEN.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
