Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking Teaching Assistants for one of our Special Educational Needs schools in King’s Lynn, supporting children and young people with Special Education Needs across West Norfolk, offering National Curriculum, and support to be able to contribute fully to the wider community in which they live.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Adapt learning materials to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students with personal care, mobility, and social interactions as required.
  • Collaborate with other educational professionals to develop effective strategies for student support.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
