Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Gorton, Manchester
Contract Type: Temp-to-Perm
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Start Date: ASAP

Teaching Personnel are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Gorton to find a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive environment where your skills and contributions will have a direct impact on the success of students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across a variety of subjects.
  • Assist in adapting learning materials and strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Support students in their social and emotional development, helping them to build confidence and resilience.
  • Work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other staff to monitor and track student progress.
  • Help create an inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic and personal development of all students.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with students with SEN in a school or educational setting (desirable).
  • A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusive education and enhancing the learning experience for all students.

Qualifications:

  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience with a range of SEN (including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, physical disabilities, etc.) is beneficial.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
