Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Age Range: 10-16 years
Specialism: Supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
Hourly Rate: £13.75 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting children with SEMH needs and making a positive impact in their education? We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in the Darwen area. In this role, you will be working closely with pupils aged 10-16 years, providing tailored support to help them succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Assist with managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive emotional and social development
  • Help to implement personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure students' academic and emotional needs are met
  • Encourage student engagement and build their confidence in a school setting

About You:

  • Experience supporting students with SEMH, or a strong desire to learn about SEMH needs
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build strong relationships with students
  • A genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people
