Job description

Do you have experience with or a passion for supporting children with SEN? This may be the role for you.

Within this role, you will be expected to support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities; to encourage positive behaviour and to work together with other SEN Support Assistants and Class Teachers. You will get involved in the pupils’ learning of foundation subjects (Maths, English and Phonics) and support those pupils with additional needs.

A primary school in the BL9 area is currently looking to recruit a professional and committed individual for the role of SEN Support Assistant to help create positive and stimulating educational experiences for children across EYFS/ Key Stage 1. The school prides itself on building excellent relationships with both parents and pupils alike.

This role would be 8.45am-3.15pm on selected days in the week (TBC and flexibility around full-time and part-time availability) starting after the Easter break, term-time only, until the end of the academic year (July 2025). Relevant education-based qualifications (level 2/3 education-based qualification) are preferred but not essential.

If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children, whether you have experience with supporting individuals with SEN in an alternative environment, you are a recent graduate looking for experience in a specialist role, or have supported children with additional needs before in a professional or personal capacity, then this may be the perfect role for you!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
