Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Dorset Area (Bournemouth, Poole, Ringwood, Ferndown, West Moors)
Job Type: Part-Time and Full-Time Positions Available

Job Description:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with a variety of learning needs in both mainstream and specialist school environments. You’ll work closely with class teachers to ensure that students are supported in their educational development, providing tailored assistance in small groups or one-on-one settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual or small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored learning plans to support the academic progress of students.
  • Help students with personal care, communication, and social skills as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff.
  • Monitor and track students’ progress and provide feedback to relevant staff.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting, ideally with SEN experience (but not essential).
  • Passionate about supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Patient, caring, and adaptable.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A relevant qualification (such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
