SEN Teaching Assistant

We are a welcoming and supportive Primary School in Accrington, seeking a dedicated individual to join our team and support a pupil with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. About the Role
As a 1:1 support staff member, you will work closely with a pupil in our Year 3 class to help them overcome challenges and thrive within the school environment. This full-time role offers:
- Hours: Monday to Friday.
- Pay: Competitive rates of £12.90–£15 per hour.
- Start Date: ASAP.
- Location: Accrington (easily accessible by car or public transport).
Key Responsibilities
Your main focus will be to provide tailored support to the pupil, ensuring they feel safe, engaged, and encouraged in their learning journey. Specific tasks include:
- Assisting with day-to-day activities in the classroom to promote learning and engagement.
- Collaborating with the class teacher to maintain a positive and harmonious learning atmosphere for all pupils.
- Identifying gaps in the pupil’s learning and providing feedback to the class teacher to address these needs effectively.
- Observing and recognizing when the pupil may feel overstimulated, and implementing strategies to help them self-regulate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
