We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive mainstream primary school in Accrington. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children who have special educational needs, supporting them to achieve their full potential.
About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, and other learning barriers.
- Collaborate with teachers to deliver tailored educational programs, adapting learning materials as necessary.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes students' confidence, independence, and well-being.
- Assist with personal care needs where required, ensuring students are supported holistically.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers, parents, and SEN coordinators.
- Support the development of social and emotional skills through interactive and engaging activities.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (preferred but not essential).
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies (training can be provided).
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) are desirable but not mandatory.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
