Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Location: Plymouth, UK

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Contract Type: Full-Time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Start Date: September 2024

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Plymouth. This role involves providing 1:1 support to a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a student with SEN in the classroom and during other school activities.
  • Assist the student in managing their learning and social development, following their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement effective teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Monitor and record the student’s progress, providing feedback to the teaching staff and parents.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the student with any personal care needs, as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • Relevant qualifications in Education or SEN support are advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
