JOB DESCRIPTION: SEN Teacher

£140 - £235 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Assess and track the progress of students, providing feedback to parents and caregivers
  • Collaborate with SENCOs and other professionals to create individualised education plans
  • Manage classroom behaviour and create a supportive learning environment
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with SEN best practises

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Understanding of SEN Code of Practise and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an SEN setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of different learning needs and strategies for SEN students
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student requirements
  • Strong classroom management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
  • Training in Makaton, TEACCH, or other SEN interventions

Working Conditions:

  • Regular working hours with occasional evening or weekend commitments for meetings or events
  • Classroom-based teaching with opportunities for outdoor learning and educational trips
  • Collaborative work within a supportive team environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
