Job description
Teaching Personnel are currently employing a full-time Teaching Assistant with SEN experience to work in one of our partner schools in Birmingham (B30).
The SEN teaching assistant should have an understanding of ADHD and ASD and the support and care needed to enable children to learn.
Responsibilities
- Implement structured learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils.
- To undertake activities in order to monitor the personal social and emotional needs of pupils.
- To develop positive relationships with pupils to promote pupil progress and attainment.
- To assist in the devising of pupil's individual targets and their monitoring and review.
- To assist in the development of varying skills that support pupils' learning.
- To assist in the specific medical/care needs of pupils when specific training has been undertaken.
- Have a background or qualification in psychology, mental health and / or challenging behaviours.
Requirements
- Have experience working with KS3 and KS4 students who have SEN needs.
- DBS certification on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Class control and behaviour management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
