SEN Classroom Assistant

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN)? Looking for a rewarding SEN Teaching Assistant role in Lancashire? We have the perfect opportunity for you!

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Classroom Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive Special School in Preston, PR2. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting pupils aged 3–19 with a range of moderate, severe, profound, and complex learning needs.

Key Information:

  • Position: SEN Classroom Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Location: Preston, PR1.

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

  • Pay: £13.75 per hour / £90 per day – Paid weekly!

Key Duties:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, multi-sensory lessons tailored to each pupil’s individual needs.

  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment to help all students thrive.

  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behavior through tailored support and positive reinforcement.

  • Help celebrate every pupil’s unique progress, milestones, and achievements.

  • Work closely with the wider school team to promote strong relationships between pupils, staff, and families.

  • Individuals who are compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting children with additional learning needs.

  • A genuine desire to help SEN pupils reach their full potential.

  • Experience is welcome, but graduates (particularly in psychology or education), teaching assistants, and career changers with a passion for SEN are strongly encouraged to apply!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
