SEN Assistant
Job description
We're Hiring an SEN Teaching Assistant to work in Portsmouth. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work within Special Education Needs schools in Portsmouth and provide vital support to students, across both Primary and Secondary ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN (including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, speech and language needs, physical needs).
- Assist in the planning and delivery of individualized learning activities.
- Help students with social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Support teachers in creating an inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and updates as necessary.
- Assist with personal care and other needs as required.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and protocols at all times.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN in a education or alternative setting.
- A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to supporting children.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Adaptability to meet the individual needs of each student.
- A genuine passion for making a positive difference in children's lives.
- Resilience and a calm nature.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
