SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant – Full-Time (January Start | Leigh)
Are you an empathetic Teaching Assistant specializing in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) support? Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a Full-Time SEMH Teaching Assistant in a Leigh-based primary school, beginning in January. This is an impactful role suited for candidates passionate about emotional and behavioral support.
Position Overview:
- Full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant role with a focus on creating a positive, supportive environment
- Initial 12-month contract with the possibility of extension based on school needs
- Perfect for candidates experienced in supporting SEMH or interested in expanding their expertise in this area
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide structured, targeted support to students with SEMH needs in a classroom setting
- Work with the class teacher to promote emotional resilience and positive behaviors
- Help manage challenging behaviors in a calm and supportive manner, using effective de-escalation techniques

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
