Job description

SEHM Teaching assistant

Teaching Personnel are recruiting an SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in our school in Greater Manchester specialising in supporting students ages 4-8 years old with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs ( SEMH ). Students in this school may present some challenging behaviour so the ideal candidate will have some experience working along side children with SEMH needs. This role will be mixed of both 1-1 and small group support.

A successful candidate will have

  • Experience working with children or young people with a range of social, emotional and mantal health needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Have a nurturing approach to supporting students with a wide range of abilities and needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively  with teaching staff, therapists, and other support staff
  • A understand of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Can inspire and motivate otherspupils to reach their full potential

Qualifications / certificates

  • DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivelent

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
