Secondary Supply Teacher – Plymouth
Location: Plymouth
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: £120 - £150 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Flexible supply work with long-term and temp-to-perm opportunities available
Are you a passionate and adaptable teacher looking for flexible work in secondary schools across Plymouth? We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Supply Teachers to support local schools on a short-term, long-term, and temp-to-perm basis. This role is ideal for experienced teachers, early career teachers (ECTs), and retired teachers looking to remain active in education.
The Role:
As a Secondary Supply Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across a range of subjects, following school curriculum guidelines.
- Adapt quickly to different classroom environments, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning experience for all students.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a productive and respectful atmosphere.
- Follow lesson plans provided by the school or create your own where required.
- Mark and assess students’ work when necessary, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
- Work closely with school staff to ensure continuity of learning and a seamless transition for students.
- Build strong relationships with students, promoting enthusiasm and engagement in lessons.
What We’re Looking For:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent – applications from ECTs are welcome.
- Experience teaching in a secondary school setting, with strong subject knowledge in your specialism.
- The ability to adapt to different classroom environments and year groups as needed.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- A proactive and flexible approach to teaching and learning.
- A commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
