Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant (Plymouth)
Location: Plymouth
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Plymouth. In this role, you will play a vital part in helping students with a range of additional needs overcome challenges and reach their potential, both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing tailored support to secondary-aged students with SEN, either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
- Assisting teachers in planning and adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs.
- Supporting students in managing their emotional and social development.
- Helping to create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Accompanying students on educational visits or off-site activities when required.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with young people, ideally in an SEN or secondary school setting.
- A genuine passion for helping students with additional needs thrive.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A valid driving license and access to your own vehicle.
- Business insurance on your car (essential for travel between sites or transporting pupils when required).
- A willingness to undergo a DBS check (or have a current certificate on the update service).
Desirable Skills:
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working with specific SEN conditions, such as ASD, ADHD, or SEMH.
- Familiarity with SEN support tools such as Makaton, PECS, or behaviour management strategies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
