Job Title: Secondary Cover Teacher

Job Duties:

• Provide cover teaching for secondary school classes in the absence of the regular teacher
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans effectively to ensure continuity in student learning
• Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment
• Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments and examinations
• Communicate with school staff and parents regarding student performance and behaviour

Required Qualifications:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Enhanced DBS check
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

Prior experience in teaching or cover teaching role preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong understanding of the secondary school curriculum
• Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and strategies
• Organisational skills and ability to manage classroom dynamics

Preferred Qualifications:

• Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
• Experience working with diverse student populations

Working Conditions:

• Part-time hours on a contract basis
• Work within a secondary school setting
• Potential for travel between different school locations
