Science Teacher – Manchester

Location: Manchester
Salary: £150 - £210 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Start Date: Immediate

A well-established secondary school in Manchester is seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their supportive and dynamic Science department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or a newly qualified teacher (ECT) looking to develop their career in a high-achieving school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach KS5 for suitable candidates.

  • Use practical experiments, technology, and real-world examples to bring Science to life and inspire curiosity in students.

  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing targeted intervention and differentiated support where necessary.

  • Maintain high expectations for student behaviour and academic achievement, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and participate in departmental meetings and CPD opportunities.

  • Prepare students for GCSE Science examinations, ensuring they have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics is desirable.

  • Previous teaching experience in a secondary school setting (ECTs welcome to apply).

  • A passion for Science education and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

  • An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
