Science Teacher (Supply) – Tameside (Start January 2025)

About the Role
Teaching Personnel is actively seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join our supply teaching team, bringing a fresh perspective to secondary schools across Tameside. This is a unique opportunity for a qualified Science Teacher with a background in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics to apply their subject knowledge flexibly across schools, engaging students and igniting their passion for science. As a supply teacher, you’ll have the chance to work in diverse school environments, manage various year groups, and tailor your lessons to different educational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Engaging Science Lessons: Teach Biology, Chemistry, or Physics to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring curiosity and a love for scientific exploration.
  • Adaptability Across Schools: Effectively integrate into different school environments, swiftly building rapport with students and staff to maintain a smooth transition for classes.
  • Classroom Management & Support: Maintain a structured, positive learning atmosphere and engage students with practical, hands-on experiments where possible.
  • Continuous Assessment: Track student progress during each assignment, providing constructive feedback to support student growth and resilience.

We are looking for a qualified Science Teacher who:

  • Has a deep understanding of the secondary science curriculum across specialisms
  • Possesses strong classroom management skills, ensuring lessons are productive and well-organized

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
