About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in Stockport, Manchester. This full-time role will commence after Easter and will cover a long-term absence. The school is known for its commitment to academic excellence, inclusive ethos, and strong Science department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience. The role will involve fostering a passion for Science while ensuring students develop a strong understanding of key scientific principles.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.

Teach across all three disciplines of Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) at Key Stages 3 and 4.

Adapt teaching strategies to suit a range of learning abilities and ensure inclusivity in lessons.

Encourage curiosity and critical thinking by incorporating practical experiments and interactive learning techniques.

Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

Prepare students for assessments and external examinations, ensuring they meet their full potential.

Maintain a positive and safe classroom environment that promotes student engagement.

Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Science department to share best practices and enhance the curriculum.

Contribute to extra-curricular Science activities, such as clubs, workshops, and educational trips.

Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and carers regarding progress and academic development.

Requirements
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4 (experience with Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential).

Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

A passion for Science and the ability to inspire students to develop a love for the subject.

Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.

Strong communication and organisational skills.
