Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Science Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Southampton. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the science curriculum, a passion for inspiring students, and a commitment to delivering engaging lessons. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the education of young people in a forward-thinking school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with the potential for Key Stage 5 depending on expertise).
  • Inspire and motivate students to develop a love for science and achieve their best.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment where students are encouraged to excel.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and share best practices.
  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities and the wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or combined sciences).
  • Experience teaching science at Key Stage 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is a plus).
  • A passion for science and inspiring students to reach their full potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and manage students effectively in a classroom setting.
  • A proactive and positive approach to teaching and learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
