Second in Science

About the Role:

As Second in Science, you will:

  • Lead and Inspire: Support the Head of Science in driving the department’s vision and fostering a culture of academic excellence.
  • Deliver Outstanding Lessons: Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to specialise in your preferred area of science.
  • Mentor and Guide: Provide guidance and support to colleagues within the department, contributing to their professional development.
  • Curriculum Development: Assist in the planning and implementation of a progressive and engaging science curriculum.
  • Monitor Progress: Use data to track student outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring all learners reach their full potential.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified Science Teacher with QTS and substantial classroom experience.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding lessons that engage and inspire students.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.
  • A passion for science education and a commitment to student success.
  • Experience in curriculum planning and development is advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
