Science Teacher – Southampton

Position: Science Teacher
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: January 2024 (or as soon as possible)

Are you passionate about inspiring students to explore the world of science? We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join our client school in Southampton and help ignite a love for science in our students.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with potential for Key Stage 5).
  • Plan and implement creative and effective teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and teaching resources.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes scientific inquiry and experimentation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ideally a qualified teacher with QTS, however we are able to consider Over Seas Teachers and Unqualified teachers with relevant experience. 
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science 
  • Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (experience with Key Stage 5 is a bonus).
  • Passion for teaching and inspiring students to develop a love for the sciences.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching to cater to the diverse learning needs of students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
