Science Teacher – Sparking Curiosity and Discovery

If you're an enthusiastic Science teacher ready to inspire young minds, a highly regarded secondary school in Hedge End is looking for you to join their Science Department. This role is ideal for a teacher who’s passionate about fostering curiosity, promoting critical thinking, and helping students understand the world through science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage and inspire: Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, tailoring content to support all learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster scientific enquiry: Encourage students to question, experiment, and make discoveries, building a foundation of scientific skills.
  • Support exam preparation: Guide students through GCSE topics, ensuring they are well-prepared and confident for assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Science team: Work closely with a committed team of Science educators, sharing ideas, resources, and strategies to enhance learning.
  • Promote hands-on learning: Lead practical experiments safely and effectively, using modern laboratory facilities and resources.

Ideal Candidate Attributes:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): A qualified and experienced Science teacher, ideally with a specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
  • Passion for Science: Eager to inspire a love for Science and curiosity about the natural world.
  • Classroom management: Skilled at creating a positive, structured classroom environment that engages students in active learning.
  • Strong communicator: Able to build rapport with students and maintain effective communication with colleagues and parents.
  • Continuous learner: Committed to your own professional growth, open to regular CPD and development opportunities provided by the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
