Job description

We are seeking a dynamic Science Teacher to join our welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Rochdale, starting in April 2025.

As a Science Teacher, you will have the opportunity to teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering exciting lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. You will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire curiosity and foster a love of Science
  • Challenge and motivate students to develop their scientific thinking, problem-solving skills, and investigative abilities
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Science curriculum and share best teaching practices
  • Support students in and out of the classroom, helping them to achieve their potential and excel in their studies
  • Contribute to the school’s extracurricular activities, including Science clubs or revision sessions

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Science or a related field with a specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
  • A passion for Science and the ability to inspire students of all abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex concepts
  • A creative, hands-on approach to teaching, with a focus on practical experiments and active learning
  • A commitment to student well-being and academic success
  • Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain a positive and productive learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
