An exciting opportunity has arisen at an all-through secondary school in Portsmouth for a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join the dynamic teaching team from September.
Teaching Personnel are working closely with the school who are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Science who has strong subject knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. Whether you’re an experienced teacher or an ECT looking to begin your career in a supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Who We’re Looking For:
-
A qualified teacher with QTS (or currently working towards it as an ECT)
-
Minimum of 1 year’s experience teaching in UK schools (including during training)
-
A strong grasp of the Science curriculum, with the ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential)
-
A reflective and driven practitioner with a passion for inspiring young learners
-
A collaborative team player who is committed to continuous professional development
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and inclusive Science lessons
-
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing feedback that supports improvement
-
Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and resources
-
Maintain high standards of classroom management and positive behaviour
-
Engage with parents and carers to support pupil progress
-
Participate in department and whole-school meetings, CPD opportunities, and wider school life
-
Support extracurricular activities and enrichment within the Science department

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
