Science Teacher – 8-Week Fixed Term Contract

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Salary: £150 - £220 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: 24th February 2025
Contract: Full-time, fixed-term (8 weeks)

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a highly respected secondary school in Corby to recruit a dedicated Science Teacher for a short-term cover role. The Role:

We are seeking a motivated and engaging Science Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is a full-time position with planning and marking responsibilities, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to a well-established Science department.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Teaching across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (specialist knowledge preferred but not essential)
• Tracking and assessing student progress, providing feedback and targeted support
• Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and learning outcomes
• Collaborating with colleagues to support a positive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

✔ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
✔ Experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential)
✔ Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities
✔ A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to hit the ground running in a short-term role
✔ A commitment to student progress and achievement
