Science Teacher – Independent School (Northampton)

Full-Time, Permanent Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a thriving and supportive independent school in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire young minds and contribute to the development of a dynamic and engaging curriculum.

The Role:

As a Science Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring that students develop both a deep understanding and a love for science. You will work closely with colleagues to create a positive, collaborative learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.

The ideal candidate will be able to teach a broad range of science subjects and have the ability to inspire students across various year groups. You will be committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning, offering both challenge and support to students in equal measure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging science lessons across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring inclusivity
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to foster academic growth
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous development of the science curriculum
  • Support extra-curricular activities that enhance student learning and wellbeing
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour management and classroom discipline
  • Work collaboratively with staff to uphold the school’s ethos and values

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified Science Teacher with a degree in a relevant subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • Passionate about teaching and inspiring students in the sciences
  • Able to teach across all three sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) to GCSE level, with the ability to teach A-Level preferred
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • An adaptable and resourceful approach to teaching
  • Experience in an independent school setting is desirable, but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
