Job Advertisement: Science Teacher (Key Stage 3 Alternative Provision)

Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher looking to make a real difference? We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a Key Stage 3 Alternative Provision, working with small classes of students with EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans). This is a full-time, temporary-to-permanent opportunity, offering the chance to transform lives and support students in reaching their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and accessible Science lessons across all key topics, tailored to individual student needs.
  • Support students with EHCPs, helping them achieve academic progress and develop key skills.
  • Utilize effective behaviour management techniques to foster a positive, structured learning environment.
  • Set clear expectations, act as a role model, and provide consistent, reliable support.
  • Work closely with support staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
  • Monitor progress, provide regular feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of the students.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualifications.
  • Have experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN), particularly those with EHCPs.
  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills, patience, and a passion for supporting vulnerable students.
  • Be reliable, adaptable, and committed to helping every student succeed, no matter their background or challenges.
  • Be able to work full-time with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
